tANGEA BEACH HOUSE
Rosedale NSW
This unbuilt beach house project is perched on a rocky cliff, overlooking a secluded beach in a coastal town in southern NSW. The design features two distinct pavilions—one public and one private. The northern pavilion is dedicated to living and entertaining, embracing openness and exposure, while the southern pavilion houses the sleeping quarters, offering a sense of shelter and intimacy. Each pavilion responds to its own unique environmental setting: the northern pavilion opens toward the beach, welcoming the elements and the expansive coastal views, while the southern pavilion is nestled into the rocky outcrops, providing a protected, intimate atmosphere. The architecture celebrates the complexity and beauty of nature, with each space drawing attention to specific features of the site and the broader natural landscape beyond.
